Edmonton Retired Teachers’ Association (ERTA) is a community of retired teachers
and their spouses who, together with retired teachers from other parts of Canada
and other educational institutions, and retired employees (support staff) of school
boards, universities, colleges and technical institutions who have contributed to
an Alberta government pension plan, have developed a social organization and network.
This group is a self-governed branch of the Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association
(ARTA) and shares many of its goals.
Specific goals and objectives for ERTA can be found in this website. The relationship
of ERTA and ARTA is clarified here also.
As part of its social dimension, there are many interesting events held each year.
There are four luncheons held during the year as well as tours, events and activities
that are interesting for its members. The most important aspect is the ability of
friends and colleagues to meet, enjoy their company and encounter new friends.
